Polypropylene (PP) plastics are widely used across industries due to their lightweight, durability, and chemical resistance. In the automotive sector, modified PP materials—enhanced with glass fiber or talc—are critical for lightweighting, enabling 5–10% vehicle weight reduction and improved fuel efficiency. They are used in interior components like dashboards and seat frames, as well as exterior parts such as bumpers and under-hood guards. PP’s resilience in extreme temperatures (-40°C to 80°C) and resistance to oils and coolants make it ideal for fuel tanks, battery casings, and electric vehicle battery systems. In packaging, PP ensures safety and efficiency: its non-toxic, heat-resistant properties suit it for food containers, microwave-safe ware, and sterile packaging, while modified barrier films extend shelf life. It dominates bottle cap production and is key in logistics packaging—woven bags, BOPP films, and recyclable hollow boards—offering strength, transparency, and cost-effectiveness. These versatile properties solidify PP's role in modern manufacturing and sustainable design.
